"What is a Yarn Tasting?" You Ask.

So... we threw a party.

There was food...

And some wine...

There were prizes...

...and of course there was yarn!

Everyone who came received a bag with a sampling of eight different yarns.  Then the fun began.  Each knitter chose what to do with the yarn.

Leona and Georgie were quite busy.

Stacy finished a bracelet.

You should have been there.

Check out the new stuff.

This is Silk Splash by Blue Ridge Yarns.  It is 82% Superwash Merino and 18% Tussah Silk.  Gauge is 6-7 st/in on size 2-3US needles.  400 yards sells for a measly $27.

Here is a sampling of the Waterfall colorway.

Also from Blue Ridge is a huge new assortment of colors to restock the Footprints collection ($28).  Do you remember those?  That's the sock yarn the comes with two different colors.  One for the main sock, one for the toes and heels.  Of course sock yarn is great for more than just socks.  For example...

Speaking of new colors... We have two new colors from Blue Heron Yarns in their Egyptian Mercerized Cotton (1000 yards for $40.50).  These are hidden in the back room, by the door.

Here is the complete selection.

And now for some Finished Objects...

Ale House Annie stitched by Neva.
Siren still being stitched by Jeanon.

Here are a few of Leona's latest canvases ready to go to the finisher.

Suzanne's "Your Dog on Yarn" Socks.
Lavish praise is in order.

A happy little scarf knit by Leona.
